Accessing Voicemail When Not at Your Own Desk


Below is the process for accessing voicemail from an off-campus phone:

  1. Dial 803.777.6245
  2. It will say, “please dial the number of the person you are calling. If you have a mailbox in the system, please press pound.”
  3. Press pound (#)
  4. Enter the 5 digit mailbox number (the 5-digit extension).
  5. It will prompt you to enter your password.

Telephony Tickets: Voice, Voicemail, Conference Calls

What to get from the caller requesting voice service:
  • Department name making the request
  • Department account and fund number
  • Department contact (Name and Number)
  • The name, if any which is to show on caller id
  • whether this is a digital or analog line
  • will there be voicemail (if so this is a "next issue" on the voice add ticket)?
  • how many rings before going to voicemail?
  • How many messages (standard is 10)?
  • new user's email address for Enhanced Voice Mail (complimentary with all new voicemail adds)

CONFERENCE CALLS
University Technology Services provides telephone conference call services for faculty, staff, and student organizations. Conference calls can connect multiple people through a single phone connection. Conference telephones are available to ensure your conference call is loud and clear.

Request a Conference Call:

Send the University Technology Services Help Desk an e-mail message at helpdesk@sc.edu with the following information:

  • Department making the request
  • Department account and fund number to be charged
  • Department contact‘s name, phone number, and e-mail address
  • Total number of participants
  • Date of conference
  • Time of conference - Include the start time and approximate end time

The conference call requester and the department contact, if different, will receive an e-mail message that includes:
6-digit code
Toll free phone number
Instructions

The conference call requester and/or department contact will forward this e-mail to all participants scheduled for the conference call.
Cost:
$0.10 per minute, per person
