A set of SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 Foundation products support Microsoft Windows Vista editions
targeted at the business market:
• Windows Vista Business
• Windows Vista Enterprise ‐ available only to Microsoft Enterprise Agreement customers
• Windows Vista Ultimate

Note: SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 does not support Windows Vista x64 editions or SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4
editions that are targeted at the consumer market such as Windows Vista Home Premium and
Windows Vista Home Basic.
Microsoft Windows x64 Family

SAS 9.1.3 Foundation is supported on the following editions the Microsoft Windows x64 family:
• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition
• Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition
• Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition
• Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition

Support Levels for Operating Systems

Windows on Itanium and Open VMS Itanium not supported in SAS 9.3

April 2010 Due to changing market conditions, SAS 9.3 will drop support for Windows on Itanium (W64) and Open VMS Itanium (IVMS, VMI) operating systems. SAS will continue to assist customers in migrating to other operating systems. Note: SAS 9.2 will continue to support these operating systems.

Operating systems not supported in SAS 9.2

March 2010 SAS 9.2 will not be provided on any of the following operating systems.

• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Family
• Microsoft Windows NT 4
• Tru64 UNIX
• Open VMS Alpha
• Linux for Itanium-based Systems

SAS Support for Alternative Operating Systems

April 2009 Alternative operating systems are defined as variants of the commercially supported operating systems, which are most often targeted for use in customer sites. SAS will continue to release products on commercially supported versions of operating systems. SAS will work with customers to support a SAS deployment in an alternative operating system on a best-effort basis.

Support for Microsoft Windows Vista^TM

February 2007 In conjunction with Microsoft's general availability of Windows Vista Operating System, SAS will be adding support for this operating system for the first time with release of SAS 9.2. SAS will support the three Windows Vista editions (both 32-bit and x64 bit versions) that are targeted at the business market.

***Microsoft does not specify which version of Vista is compatible, so it's possible that all versions will work with 9.2, but only Business, Ultimate and Enterprise are actually supported by SAS.

***There is actually a different 9.2 release that Katie ships to those with 64 bit OS. Currently this is not indicated on VIP but customers need to indicate that they have a 64 bit OS so that they get the right version of 9.2.
